Did anyone ever tell you there are more than the commonly known 3 trimesters of pregnancy? Today you coventry newborn photographer is sharing the tea on everything you can expect from conception to the unspoken “4th trimester.”
Pregnancy and birth are extremely different from mama to mama. However, all you will experience similarities that bond every mother’s experience together.
I’m not a mom yet, but in my research and conversations with clients, I’ve gathered information I know is going to be useful and maybe even a little surprising as you prepare for pregnancy, birth and your future.
I’m not only going to share with you what to expect in each, but also a lot of local resources you can use as you plan for your pregnancy, newborn and birth in Coventry.
First Trimester: The Secret Life of Pregnancy
The first trimester is like a secret club where only you and your growing baby are members. During these first 12 weeks, your body’s working overtime to create a new life, and you might be feeling the effects (hello, morning sickness). It’s like you’re part of an exclusive group that only fellow expectant moms can truly understand.
Here are some other resources in Coventry for the 1st trimester.
Acupuncture for Pregnancy-Related Treatments
- Healing Arts Center – Philadelphia, PA
Growing a baby is no small feat, and if you’re feeling the waves of morning sickness or the weight of early pregnancy fatigue, you’re not alone. That’s where Healing Arts Center near Coventry steps in. Their team specializes in gentle, pregnancy-safe acupuncture designed to ease nausea, calm your nervous system, and support your changing body. Think of it as a calming reset button—just when you need it most.
Supplements and Care for Morning Sickness
- B-Natal – Non-Prescription Supplement
When saltines just aren’t cutting it, B-Natal might be your new best friend. These little lozenges are packed with vitamin B6 (a proven helper for nausea) and offer a sweet, easy way to manage morning sickness. They’re an over-the-counter option that many mamas swear by—and let’s be real, anything that helps you keep breakfast down is worth a try.
Second Trimester (1-13 weeks): The Golden Age
For many, the second trimester is the golden age of pregnancy, where you can finally start enjoying the journey. With the nausea subsiding and the baby bump showing, it’s time to embrace the experience.
This also means baby announcement time! I have created an entire idea board of my favorite ideas for you.
Let’s not forget our fashion. Looking great, feeling comfortable, and featuring our bump is key! I have linked a great maternity store here. You can also check out your local thrift store.
Third Trimester (14-27 weeks): The Home Stretch
The third trimester is when things start getting real. As you prepare for your baby’s arrival, you’ll want to make sure you have everything in place for a smooth transition.
The Nursery
As Coventry Newborn Photographer I have seen a lot of nusuery’s. When creating your nursery can be an exciting and joyful experience as you prepare to welcome your little one into the world! However, it’s easy to feel a bit overwhelmed by all the decisions and tasks involved. Remember to keep it simple and cozy—prioritize comfort with a cozy rocking chair, as you’ll be spending plenty of time in that special space. Make it a haven for both you and your baby! Here is my Nursery Guide showing you the simplest way to create your dream nursery!

The 4th Trimester: What No One Tells You
Surprise! Your journey doesn’t end with birth. The 4th trimester is the first three months of your baby’s life, where both of you are adjusting to the world outside the womb.
As a Coventry newborn photographer, I’ve had the joy of connecting with so many incredible local moms—and I know just how important a support system can be. That’s why I created a private Facebook group just for Coventry-area mamas. It’s a safe, welcoming space to ask questions, share the highs and lows, and connect with other women who get it. Whether you’re expecting your first or chasing toddlers, you’re more than welcome to join us.
