A Small Business Guide for Mailing in Bows & Hair Accessories
How to prepare products for brand photo shoot! If you’re a product-based small business getting ready to send your items off for brand photography—first off, YAY! You’re about to get beautiful, scroll-stopping content that will elevate your brand and help your products sell.
As a photographer who specializes in bows and hair accessories, I work with businesses who ship their products to me for styled shoots. Whether it’s for a new launch, a seasonal refresh, or a brand glow-up, here’s exactly how to prepare products for a brand photo shoot runs smoothly and your gallery turns out perfect.

1. Package Products Securely
This one’s big! Make sure your items can’t shift or get damaged during shipping. Use soft materials like tissue paper, bubble wrap, or packing crinkle to cushion your bows and clips so they arrive looking just as beautiful as when you packed them.
Tip: Avoid overstuffing or jamming items together—flattened bows aren’t cute in photos, and we want them to shine!
2. Label or Separate Products You Want Grouped Together
If you have specific products you want photographed as a set—like a bow and matching scrunchie—just label or bag them together before shipping. A quick sticky note or labeled zip bag goes a long way and helps me honor your styling vision.
If there are no notes, I’ll style based on color, texture, and variety for a well-rounded look—but if you have a preference, tell me!

3. Send Enough for Styling Variety
Even if you’re only launching a few pieces, sending a full range of colors, styles, or textures gives me more options to work with. I aim for maximum image variety in every shoot—flat lays, lifestyle-inspired setups, close-ups, and clean product-only shots.
And don’t stress about props—I handle all the styling, backdrops, and creative direction. You just focus on getting your product in the mail!
4. Skip the Extras (Unless You Want Them Included)
You don’t need to send logos, mood boards, or styling props—unless there’s something you specifically want in the shoot. I handle all the visual planning and shoot direction based on your brand vibe and product line.
If you’re unsure, keep it simple. Just the bows = totally fine.
