What to Wear for a Brand Shoot (And What to Avoid!)

Figuring out what to wear for your brand shoot can feel overwhelming—but it doesn’t have to be! The right outfit can elevate your brand photos and make you feel confident, comfortable, and totally on-brand.

Here’s a simple guide to help you choose the best looks for your session.

Keep It True to You

First things first—your outfits should reflect your personality and your brand. I always recommend choosing pieces that make you feel good and represent your business vibe. Think clean, confident, and stylish.

Incorporate Your Brand Colors – What to Wear for a Brand Shoot

One of my top tips? Bring your brand colors into your wardrobe! Whether it’s through a bold blazer, a soft accessory, or a subtle pop in your jewelry—using your brand’s palette helps create cohesive, scroll-stopping visuals across your website, social media, and marketing materials.

Bring Three Looks

I recommend bringing three outfit options for your session:

  1. Casual – something relaxed that still feels polished.
  2. In-Between – like a cute jumpsuit or elevated everyday look.
  3. Dressier – think a classic dress, blazer, or power outfit that really makes you feel like a boss.

This gives us a variety of vibes and helps you get the most out of your session.

What to Avoid

There are just a few things I suggest steering clear of:

  • Loud, busy patterns that distract from your face and product
  • Neon or harsh colors that clash with your brand’s vibe
  • Logos (unless it’s your own!)
  • Clothing that doesn’t fit well or makes you feel uncomfortable

Simple, well-fitted, and polished always photographs best.
